Itinerary
Day 01
- Arrive in Kathmandu
- Upon arrival, be greeted at the airport with garlands of flowers
- Transfer to Hotel and rest or enjoy free night in Nepal’s capital
Day 02
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Sightseeing tour of Basantapur, Kathmandu Durbar Square, visit home of the Living Goddess Kumari, and Swayambhunath Temple
- Lunch
- Sightseeing of Pashupatinath Temple and Boudanath Stupa
- O/N in Kathmandu
Day 03
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Sightseeing of Patan Durbar Square
- At Patan see the 17th century Royal Palace, Krishna Temple, Mangal Bazaar and more
- Lunch
- Drive to Bhaktapur and enjoy tour of the Bhaktapur Durbar Square
- At Bhaktapur see the ancient city and its five-story Nyatapol Temple, Dattatreyha Temple, Golden Gate and more
- Free night in Kathmandu
Day 04
- Breakfast
- Fly to Gongkar and drive (approx. 1.5 hrs) to Lhasa
- Transfer to Hotel and relax or enjoy free night in Lhasa
Day 05
- Sightseeing excursion of Jo-Khan (or Jokhang) Temple and Barhor Market
- Lunch
- Travel to Norbulinga to see the Summer Palace of the Dalai Lama
- O/N in Lhasa
Day 06
- Sightseeing excursion to Potala Palace above Lhasa, the Dalai Lama’s winter palace
- Lunch
- Visit Drepung the biggest Buddhist University in Tibet which is still used today
- O/N in Lhasa
Day 07
- Drive to Gyanste
- See along the travel route from Lhasa to Gyanste the Khamba La Pass, the Kora La Pass, and stop and see Lake Yamdrok Tso
- O/N Gyanste
Day 08
- Breakfast
- Visit Pelkor Choede, Gyanste’s monastery
- Travel to Sygyatse
- Visit Shalu Monastery enroute
- Excursion to Tashuhugpo (the seat of the Panchen Lama, the second in importance to the Dalai Lama) and Sygyatse Market
- O/N in Sygyatse
Day 09
- Travel from Sygyatse (or Shigaste) to SyegarVisit Shakya (or Sakya) Monastery enroute which was the seat of political power from the 10th to mid 14th centuries
- O/N in Syegar
Day 10
- Breakfast
- Travel to Shang-Mu (or Zhangmu)
- Visit Milarepa
- O/N in Shang-Mu (on the Chinese-Nepalese border)
Day 11
- Breakfast
- Travel across the Friendship Bridge (that connects China and Nepal) during drive back to Kathmandu
- O/N in Kathmandu at hotel
Day 12
- Free day in Kathmandu
Day 13
- Free day in Kathmandu
- Farewell dinner with cultural show
Day 14
- Free time in Kathmandu until transfer to airport for final departure
